

Suessola Film festival was born in December 2003 in the old Suessola Valley. It promotes a contest dedicated to short films and it is structured in three sections:
The poetry of reality;
Cinema as experimentation of language;
Rediscovering the cinema genres.
The competition will be judged by a Jury of specialists.
The Golden Castle for his outstanding career was given to director Pupi Avati.
The 2005 Edition, the festival was held at Teatro Alambra in Maddaloni, CE, Italy which celebrated its centenary year.
The contest is dedicated to the theme: the poetry of reality. The jury was chaired by David di Donatello Prize winner Ernesto Mahieux.
The Golden Castle for his outstanding career was given to scriptwriter Osvaldo Desideri, awarded with the Oscar Prize for Art Direction- Set Decoration in Bernardo Bertolucci's Last Emperor.
Special guests of this edition were: Martina Pinto, guest star in Rai fiction “S.Maria Goretti”; Cloris Brosca, theatre and cinema actress.
President of Republic Ciampi awarded the festival with a medal, for the cultural value of the event.
The third edition was held at the beautiful set of the Royal Court Theatre in Caserta, with GIANNI ROMOLI ( Ferzan Ozpeck's producer and scriptwriter) who chaired the jury. Among the winners, was Nicola Giuliano. For the occasion, Campania Film Commission organized a meeting with Hollywood actor John Turturro.
The fourth edition will be held at Big Maxicinema in Marcianise, with the section dedicated to Spanish short films and the one dedicated to women-made films, and its talks, meetings and debates, of course.
The Prizes for their outstanding careers were given to director GIUSEPPE FERRARA and actress ANNA AMMIRATI.
New President of Republic Giorgio Napolitano awarded the Festival with a silver medal.
