INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF SHORT FILMS

REDISCOVERING CINEMA STYLES
THE 2009 EDITION

01. The cultural Association “TERRA di CINEMA” is organising an international competition for short films. The 2009 edition will be consecrated to cinema styles and to the best writers who have renewed the language of cinema styles.

02. Entrance for the competition of short films is open to Italians and foreign authors.
The works in a language that is not Italian will be better subtitled in Italian. The maximum duration is 20 mins.

03. For insciptions the necessary materials is as follows.-
- The request for entrance must be fully completed (Together with A)
- Short films on 2 DVD indepandantly from the base film in which it has been filmed.
- Technical files with brief biografical notes from the Director and a synthesis of short films (Together with B)
- All material must be sent by special post by 30/04/2009 to:

04. The short films must not contain messages even with unintentional publicity or contain elements that propose transgession of the law or harmful rights of third person.

05. The material received will not be returned, but utilized as material of the festival archives.

06. Every DVD must contain only one work, but every author can take part with more than one work.

07. By the 30 th April 2009 admission of the final phase of the festival will be communicated to the Directors. Unsuccessful communication by such date will signify that the work has not been admitted.

08. On reaching the final phase, a special technical board of examiners will then admit to selection the short films of higher technically artistic importance that bring to evedence a particular attention towards the aesthetics of the image. The short films reaching the finals will be shown during the TERRA di CINEMA Manifestation and shown to a special jury of technical cinema experts. The Jury will express their vote regarding the production, the script, the photography, the eding, the sound effects and the acting. The vote of the jury is unappealable. Any possible contoversy and all that is not foreseen in the announcement remains the exclusive competence of the Association of Organizers and Promoters of the Festival, “TERRA di CINEMA”.

The Directors (or Producers or Actors) of the work of all finalists and all that take part of the manifestation bill will be guests of the organization (bed & breakfast).
The rules insist on the presence of the the writers during the final
selection of the short film finals,in order to discuss their work
with the jury.Any absence therefore will exclude the authors from
further participation in the competition.

10. Consignments of copies of work entered for selection and the work of the finalist are the cost of the sender, therefore of the participator.

11. Durind the course of the festival the organization of the SUESSOLA FILM FESTIVAL will award the following official prizes without possibility of ex equo:
- CASTELLO D’ORO
BEST WORK OF THE CONTEST
- GRAN PREMIO DELLA GIURIA
BEST DIRECTOR The winning author of the Grand prize of the Jury will take part of the Technical Jury for the award Castello d’Oro of TERRA di CINEMA Edition 2010, and will also be a guest of the manifestation.
- PREMIO GIURIA POPOLARE
BEST WORK OF THE COURSE assigned from a public Jury that includes Judges from 18 years to 65 years.
The critics prize is attributed by a jury composed of journalists.
