The 2nd Edition of the Suessola Film Festival is dedicated to neo-realism, to the great masters of Italian cinema. That is the reason why only neo-realistic works, which deal with the difficult relationship between contemporary man and his society, will be admitted to the competition. The competition now becomes international and the entry form is now translated into English, French, German and Spanish.

The selected works will be viewed and evaluated by an artistic-technical jury chaired by David di Donatello Prize winner ERNESTO MAHIEUX. The winner will be awarded with a 1500 m 16 mm-film offered by CAMPANIA FILM COMMISSION, and the “Castello d'oro as well.

All finalists will be hosted by the festival organization and they will have the possibility to take part in the seminars, talks and debates organized for the occasion.
Scriptwriter OSVALDO DESIDERI, awarded with the Oscar for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration in Bernardo Bertolucci's Last Emperor, will be awarded with the Golden Castel for his outstanding career.

Selected works will be screened at Teatro Alambra in Maddaloni, (CE), Italy, which has also decided, in order to celebrate its 100 year anniversary, to create the Alambra Prize for Best actor and actress.
As last year, this edition will include a musical competition of emerging artists who haven't signed a music contract yet. The Golden Castle for her outstanding career will be given to Italian singer IRENE GRANDI. For the occasion, the Women Association ATHENA created the ATHENA Prize given to a well-known artist engaged in society in order to promote artists' engagement in solidarity activities. The Athena Prize will be given to actress CLORIS BROSCA this year .
This edition of Suessola Film Festival will take place in cooperation with AMREF through a project called “L'acqua racconta la vita”, aiming at raising funds to build a well in Kenya.
